Road Trip #234 - US Highway 49 North - Tutwiler, Mississippi to Northern...

We resume our route on the US-49 mainline beginning at the town of Tutwiler in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi. We enter Coahoma County, and then skirt the very edge of the city of Clarksdale, joining US-61 and US-278. The junction of US-49/61/278 is about a mile from the original junction of US-49 and 61, known as the Devil's Crossroads, where legend has it that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in exchange for the ability to sing the blues (we'll cover Clarksdale in a later video). We continue north on the US-49/US-61 concurrency for about 15 miles, and end the video where US-49 turns west to cross the border into Arkansas.
