Road Trip #362 - NC-8 South - North Carolina State Line through Danbury
We cross the state line from Virginia into North Carolina. We pass
through the unincorporated community of Lawsonville, and then merge with
State Highway 89. We conclude after passing through the city of
Danbury.

We continue along Virginia SR-8, heading south. SR-8 briefly runs
concurrent with US Highway 58 East, and then splits away and goes
through the town of Stuart. SR-8 doubles as US-58 Business into town,
and then SR-8 makes a right turn, avoiding the town center. An SR-8
business route runs through the downtown area. After leaving Stuart, we
continue all the way to the North Carolina State Line where we conclude
our video.

In July 2018, we took a trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and we'll
eventually be publishing that video--as soon as we have the entire
parkway from end to end...this will require one more trip to accomplish.
At the end of day 1 of our trip, we decided to divert to
Winston-Salem, NC for the night. This was a big mistake, as we didn't
realize that it would be almost a 3 hour drive from the Parkway. During
this trip, we drove Virginia State Route 8, which later becomes North
Carolina State Route 8. This interesting little highway twists and
turns through the mountains and has some steep grades, and some of the
best scenery we saw on this trip. Here it is! The weather was nice
throughout most of this video with a short rain shower near the middle.
Note the vintage Motel right off the Parkway, and abandoned buildings
after we pass through the town of Woolwine.
